East Village mom owned and managed
Our mission:
To create a safe and inclusive environment devoted to play. The Rainbow is your home away from home dedicated to help enrich the development of children in our community.
Come play with us!
Based on the idea of toy rotation
The Rainbow will offer activity and experience rotations. Mondays are music and movement, Tuesdays are sensory and STEM, Wednesdays are sports and physical education, Thursdays are art, and Fridays are special!
In addition, open play will include a different activity set up on our tables every day inviting kids to interact with something new and with each other. Some activity rotation themes include: Legos, coloring, sensory, puzzles, play dough, art and more.
The Rainbow is created for the East Village community, by the East Village community
The Rainbow is created for the East Village community, by the East Village community.
The play space will reflect what our neighborhood looks like: our buildings, our library, our shops. The custom play houses designed for The Rainbow are local landmarks we all recognize and know. Imaginations will run free when the kids enter this miniature universe. They can climb the stairs to the second floors of the play houses just like they climb the stairs of their walk up apartment buildings.
Meet our founder
Milena Mimi Leznicki is the founder and CEO of The Rainbow and three year old Phoebe’s “mommom.” An MBA with a unique background in shoe design, creative direction and management, she has over 25 years of work experience to help design and build this new business from the ground up.
When her daughter was born in the middle of a global pandemic, she searched high and low for others experiencing the same life milestones. Finding that this social group did not exist, she created her own community in the East Village, which she has called home since the 1990s. The Rainbow has been inspired by and developed for Phoebe & all her friends, both new and old, to love and flourish in.
